Year of questions: Can you know yourself?

Books, music and art are filled with self-expression at both ends of the spectrum, from tortured to joyous.

Cognitively we are 1 microsecond behind ourselves at any given moment. Shortly after we’ve formed a thought/opinion/attitude any number of sensory inputs and chemical cocktails rushing through our veins could change even seemingly foundational thoughts.

So can we truly know ourselves? Or are we constantly playing catchup? And if the latter is true how do we practice honesty with ourselves and the world around us?
